I know the adjustment to the curve is not hard, it would be amazing if someone on break or at the end of the day could adjust the vBIOS and have it signed.
EVGA 1070 Ti SC Gaming, Loud (Default) Fan Curve
Please note I boosted each by 20 dB so they're retaliative to each other but more importantly so you can hear themthe mic gain was way too low. Seems like 47dba is pretty loud for a video card. How to turn up your GPU fan speed
Was the side off for the testing or was that with the side on? All that should provide some noise isolation over a open mesh hole. I would gladly accept 2, RPM under load which is about c. I would rather take the hotter card considering it is not changing my boost clocks. New Member. I agree i just got one from B-stock, it's loud and it rattles. Latest Posts. What I also like is that I haven't sacrificed any performance CPU turboboost is Enabled and my benchmark numbers are better than out of the box with the system running A Lot cooler.
If you haven't tried undervolting your GPU yet well do it. I feel like this curve should be fine for most people as I'm not pushing the Mhz that high and the mV is low enough to prevent too much heat being generated. Since the more recent update I haven't experienced any crashes. I did however try running the fans back on auto last night, the CPU was running low 80c's and the GPU hitting 75c and my game crashed once.

So I'm curious how aggressive others have pushed that curve and if you do own a VS and haven't tried this well you have to lol.

Yeah I'm started to see what your saying. I've edited my original Post with the curve I'm running now. As soon as I want to go over it seems to need a lot more voltage to be stable and I find the GPU starting to fluctuate its speed. The CPU is free to go full turboboost and maxes out in the low 80c's. Okay I've edited my original post again. In the end I have trouble getting to run well without pushing the voltage to much, which ends up causing the GPU to downclock back to anyway.
I'd love if someone gave that simple curve a shot and let me know how it runs. Basiclly if I shut down the laptop with the CPU undervolt active it locks up with a black screen when trying to boot windows the next day.
I need to hold the power button to do a hard shutdown and when re-booting it fires up no problem I think the undervolt gets reset to defaults at that point. While the system is warm I can reboot and even power off boot without issue, its only after its been sitting over night, the next morning is crashes everytime.
At this point I'm using the profiles with ThrottleStop and remembering to disable the undervolt before shutting it down. I'm surprised now one else has a problem like this? I've searched around and never found anything. I've also encountered the same speeds as you have.Direct comparisons between the temperature and fan speed curves allows us to examine their relationship.
Whatever differences we observe are probably attributable to a higher-quality GPU and its cooler operation through our test run. Lower frequencies produced by the bearings are barely measurable, and any noise produced by the voltage converters doesn't show up at all on the spectrum.
Semi-passive operation is implemented perfectly on MSI's card, with an ideal start-up pulse and balance. A frequency spectrum analysis reveals that the fans are quiet. This is because MSI's cooler barely makes any noise. Although we pick up on the voltage converters now, they are barely audible in practice. Both thermal solutions have their advantages.
Nvidia's Founders Edition exhausts heat out of your case, keeping other components inside cooler. Home Reviews. Image 1 of 2. Image 2 of 2. See all comments The NDA prison has freed everyone to release their reviews! Outstanding review, Chris. This card landed exactly where it was expected to, between the and In some games it gets real close to thewhere in other games, the is significantly ahead.
Same with comparison to the RX 56 - close in some, not so close in others. Can we get Project Cars 2 in the mix soon? It's a shame the overclocking results were too inconsistent to report, but I guess that will have to wait for vendor versions to test. Also, a hat tip for using p where this GPU is targeted. Now the question is what will the real world selling prices be vs. Do they not know what Ti means? For those interested, Guru3D overclocked their Founder's Edition sample successfully.
Excellent for the lame blower cooler. The AIB vendor dual-triple fan cards will exceed that overclocking capability. Chris, what is it that pummels the minimums for the Ti and Vega 64 in BF1 at p? Also, wrt the testing of Division, and comparing to your Ti review back in March, I notice the results for the are identical at p Like EVGA.

However the cards runs hotter and I struggle to find the good fan curve for it not making too much noise. I tried to lower the fan curve and obviously I get higher temps but the core clock don't seem to throttle.
I have some airflow in the case but it's not great. Thank's for any answer. What I always do. Setup 2 profiles and hotkey them. For the non vidya profile I just leave everything stock including auto fan. GPU boost starts downclocking around 60c. Look into noctua or phanteks case fans with high air flow, and if pulling through radiators filters etc look for static pressure with good airflow. Thank's I'll do it, seems a lot easier to manage.
But what's vidya?Forums New posts Search forums. New posts What's new Latest activity New profile posts. Members Current visitors New profile posts Search profile posts. Log in Register. Search titles only.
However, I just bought Rocket League and noticed an odd "breathing" sound from the card. Last edited: Jan 25, Joined Oct 21, Messages 5, 1.Case 155 wiring diagram
There is also a way to add fan control to Nvidia Control Panel. OneMoar There is Always Moar.
How do I control fan speed on Nvidia Control Panel
Joined Apr 9, Messages 7, 2. Vario said:. OneMoar said:. I noticed it still revving when playing Rocket League just now. Adjusting the spin-up point to 40C leaves the fans spinning all the time in this game and a temperature of about C. I guess a certain amount of revving is inevitable for a card that stops its fans. What it really needs is a better hysteresis curve. The Palit GTX that I had before this one also stopped its fans and I didn't notice this problem, so the design is still iffy.
I'm gonna keep playing with the profile until I hopefully find a sweet spot for the majority of my games. Joined Oct 17, Messages 9, 3. Last edited: May 8, Joined Dec 15, Messages 2 0.Forums New posts Search forums.

GTX 1070 Fans turn on and off continually, is it Bad?
Thread starter Kato Start date Jul 19, Kato Limp Gawd. Joined Oct 18, Messages I was playing some good old AVP2 on my rig a few months back and the game was having frame rate issues because my GPU kept down clocking because of the low load AVP2 is a real old game so i turned off the GPU down clocking and she has been running at MHz core when idle for that last few months, anyway I was in GPU z and noticed the GPU fan is turning on and off multiple times a minute. I have looked online to see if this is bad for the fan motors but all i could find was people complaining about this happening to them when they have shadow play on and such, so i was wondering if any one here would know if the fans are ok with this or is it slowly killing them?
Araxie Supreme [H]ardness. Joined Feb 11, Messages 6, Joined Aug 26, Messages 1, If it's annoying you can create a custom fan curve. The only reason i asked in the first place is I know with other electric motors if you start and stop the motor a bunch in short intervals it is really bad for the motor and it will eventually kill it, I know this is true for things like air conditioners and the ones i have actually have a timer on the compressor motor so you can't have them turn on and off like mentioned before.
Joined Nov 18, Messages 3, I personally have had 2 cards have their cooling fans wear out and fail for this very reason in cases that were actually keeping things reasonably cool as well. They just want you to buy new fans, cause we all know there is a massive amount of aftermarket fans available at dirt cheap prices LMAO.
I suppose some are replacing their graphics cards or whatever fast enough they do not see the damage.
